Fire Scarred Sequoia Trunk Silhouette

Deep charcoal bark dominates the frame, its massive surface etched with rough, blackened scars from past fires. The trunk rises vertically, silhouetted against the bright, reflected glow of the ocean behind it. Cool season air allows ground fog to pool heavily around the base, softening the transition to the salt-sprayed cliff edge. Late afternoon light bounces off the water, casting a pale, shimmering wash that outlines the tree's rugged texture without illuminating the bark details. The contrast between the dark, ancient wood and the bright, moving water creates a quiet, intimate presence. A sharp line of white foam crashes against the rocks at the very bottom edge of the view.
