Frozen Leaves in Patagonian Cedar Forest at Sunset

Amber and violet light washes the Patagonian mountain slope as thick mist blankets the valley floor below. Ancient cedar trees rise from the dark earth, their rough, deeply furrowed bark standing stark against the fading sky. Dozens of leaves and small branches hover motionless in the air between the trunks, suspended as if time has stopped. Below, a carpet of fallen foliage lies undisturbed on the ground. Long, sharp shadows stretch across the mist, against the glowing horizon. One cluster of amber leaves rests inches above a mossy rock, their edges sharp and distinct against the gray fog.
