Dragonfly Hovering Over Autumn Pond

Low morning light cuts through the clearing haze above a still pond, illuminating the delicate, iridescent wings of a dragonfly suspended in mid-air. The insect hovers just inches above dark, glassy water that reflects the pale sky. Surrounding the pond, dry reeds and late autumn grasses stand in muted browns and ochres, their tips bent slightly from recent rain. The horizon glows with a soft, diffused warmth where the sun strikes the mist. A game trail winds along the water's edge to the right, lined with fallen leaves and wet stones. The dragonfly's segmented body is sharp against the blurred background of distant trees. One dewdrop rests on the tip of a reed in the immediate foreground, catching the faint light.
