Dragonfish Glowing Barbel Oregon Winter Dawn
Dark water envelops a deep sea dragonfish seen from behind, its slender body disappearing into the gloom. One bioluminescent barbel extends from its chin, emitting a sharp, pale blue glow that cuts through the surrounding blackness. Tiny suspended particles glitter in the beam of light, resembling scattered diamonds against the void. The fish's skin appears smooth and dark, absorbing the ambient shadow while the light from the lure creates a stark rim along its dorsal edge. Cold, still water fills the frame, holding the suspended specks in place. The glow fades quickly into the deep blue-black background, leaving only the luminous tip and the faint outline of the creature's tail.
