Warm copper-toned firelight bathes a sturdy bracket fungus shelf growing from a moss-covered log in a New Zealand forest. The fungal cap displays rough, layered textures in shades of ochre and rust, standing out against the deep green moss. Gentle snowflakes drift through the air, landing softly on the log's bark and the fungus's ridges. Negative space surrounds the subject, showing the isolation of the log in the twilight. The contrast between the glowing warmth and the falling white snow creates a striking visual tension. One snowflake rests on the edge of the fungus, its white form sharp against the dark, earthy tones of the wood.
