Cicada Emerges From Shell In Surreal Grid

Soft afternoon light cuts through suspended sea spray, illuminating a cicada mid-emergence from its translucent exoskeleton on rough bark. The insect's wet, amber wings press against the wood grain while the empty shell hangs vertically beside it. Behind this biological moment, hundreds of identical cicada shells arrange themselves in a rigid, infinite grid stretching into the distance, creating a geometric wall that defies natural decay. The repetition turns the background into a manufactured pattern rather than a forest. Droplets of water rest on the new wings, catching the diffuse glow. One droplet slides down the edge of a shell in the foreground grid.
