Dewdrop on Beetle Carapace at Dawn

Pale dawn light creates a sharp rim along the edge of a glossy black beetle shell resting beside a tidal inlet near Bukhara. Early spring dampness coats the insect's carapace in a fine sheen. A large, spherical water droplet hangs from the beetle's back, distorting the microscopic ridges of the exoskeleton beneath its surface. A blurred reed stalk occupies the immediate foreground, forming a frame within the view. The background dissolves into deep shadow, leaving only the illuminated curve of the drop and the hard edge of the insect's body visible. The water bead reflects a sliver of the clearing sky above the reed-lined bank.
