Dewdrop Reflections on Spider Web at Dawn in beside a tidal inlet near Gdynia

Dewdrop Reflections on Spider Web at Dawn

by Brooke Sanchez

Cold silver light floods the frame, illuminating a complex spider web stretched between blades of grass near the tidal inlet. Each strand holds a perfect, trembling sphere of water that catches the pale dawn glow. The droplets act as tiny lenses, distorting the gray sky and the dark silhouette of the inlet in their curved surfaces. Wind whips the web, causing the water beads to oscillate violently while the silk threads remain taut. Late summer grass blades curve under the weight of the moisture, their green hues muted by the early morning chill. The intricate geometry of the web contrasts with the chaotic motion of the wind. One droplet on the lower right edge reflects a sharp, inverted image of the overcast sky.
