Barracuda School Silhouetted in Winter Dawn Water
Pale winter light falls through the surface, illuminating a dense cloud of plankton that hangs suspended in the frigid near-Murmansk waters. A school of barracuda moves through this milky haze, their dark, streamlined bodies forming sharp silhouettes against the bright, diffused glow above. The water remains exceptionally clear despite the suspended particles, allowing the fish to appear frozen in mid-turn. Slow ripples on the surface fracture the light into shifting patterns that dance across the fish's scales. The cold season is evident in the stark contrast between the deep shadows of the predators and the luminous, icy brightness of the upper column. Tiny bubbles rest on the edges of the school, marking their path through the stillness.
