Abandoned Mining Ruins Bolivia Rain

by Dustin Bright

Bright daylight illuminates a weathered mining site where rusted ore carts sit half-submerged in gray tailings. Steady rain creates a sheen on the metal surfaces and turns the surrounding dirt into slick mud. Wooden beams and corrugated iron frames lean at precarious angles, their paint peeling to reveal layers of oxidation. The heavy sky casts a diffuse, even light that washes out distant hills while sharpening the texture of wet rust. Leading lines formed by the tracks and the carts guide the view toward the crumbling structure. Water drips from the roof edges, pooling in the depressions of the tailings. A final drop falls from a jagged iron hook onto the muddy ground.
