Crumbling Viaduct Over Bogota Valley at Night in under a viaduct of steel and concrete in Bogotá

Crumbling Viaduct Over Bogota Valley at Night

by Takeshi Tyson

Steel girders and fractured concrete segments form a skeletal arch spanning a deep, wooded valley beneath a late night sky. Missing spans reveal dark gaps where the structure once connected, exposing the raw interior framework to starlight. Low-hanging clouds drift just above the tree line, casting a faint, diffuse ground glow that illuminates the rough texture of weathered steel and crumbling masonry. The symmetrical alignment of the remaining pillars pulls attention straight down the center of the void, showing the monumental scale of the decay. Autumn leaves in shades of russet and gold rest on the forest floor below, against the cold gray tones of the infrastructure. One rusted bolt protrudes from a concrete slab at the very edge of the frame.
