Derelict Power Station Corridor Jalapa Monsoon Light in along a derelict corridor with peeled paint and pooled water in Jalapa

Derelict Power Station Corridor Jalapa Monsoon Light

by Sylvia Hancock

Pools of stagnant water cover the cracked concrete floor of a long, abandoned corridor inside a Jalapa power station. Pale walls show extensive peeling paint, revealing layers of gray and rust beneath. Soft, indirect morning light falls through unseen openings, bouncing off the damp surfaces to create muted, elongated reflections. The low camera angle emphasizes the height of the decaying ceiling and the depth of the water. Dust settles on exposed pipes running along the ceiling. Cracks spiderweb across the floor tiles, filled with murky liquid. A final streak of pale blue light glints off a ripple in the foreground pool.
