Tropical Fish Swim Through Sunset Meadow Air

Golden hour light wraps the horizon, casting long shadows across a dry season meadow near Merida. A thick moss-covered log anchors the foreground, its bark textured with green and grey patches. Perched on the wood is a shelf-like bracket fungus, its edges sharp against the soft focus background. Above the log, a school of vibrant tropical fish glides through the air at head height. Their translucent scales catch the low-hanging clouds and the fading sun, creating a shimmering, impossible current that flows parallel to the earth. The water they swim in is invisible, yet the fish move with fluid precision. A cluster of dry grass blades bends slightly near the log's base, at the base of the floating aquatic life in the dry, dusty soil.
