Mola Mola Drifting Near Sunlit Surface

A massive ocean sunfish glides horizontally through exceptionally clear water, its mottled grey and white skin catching the bright, tropical-grade illumination of the midnight sun. Below the fish, a dense meadow of green seagrass sways gently against the sandy seabed near Reykjavik. Slow-moving ripples distort the light on the water's surface, creating shifting patterns of brightness and shadow across the fish's broad, flat body. The water transitions from a luminous turquoise near the surface to a deep, still blue in the depths. Fine bubbles rest on the fish's trailing fins as it moves with deliberate slowness. A faint, elongated shadow of the mola stretches across the seagrass bed directly beneath it.
