Cobalt light sweeps across a volcanic arch beneath a tropical reef ledge near Cairns, illuminating a cuttlefish in stark silhouette. The creature's skin catches fleeting silver reflections as it hovers in exceptionally clear water. Slow-moving surface ripples distort the beam above, creating shifting patterns of brightness against the dark stone. The volcanic rock forms a rugged frame around the animal, showing the depth of the shallow night. Fine details of the cuttlefish's mantle texture emerge briefly in the glow before fading back into shadow. One patch of silver scales glimmers along the creature's flank against the deep blue void.
