Saltwater Crocodile Night Bask Rim Light
Rain-darkened scales gleam faintly along the curved spine of a massive saltwater crocodile resting on the muddy bank of a game trail. The reptile keeps its jaws agape, revealing rows of sharp teeth and a pinkish interior against the deep shadows of the night. A thin rim of cool light traces the edge of its snout and the rough texture of its armored back, separating the dark form from the hazy atmosphere beyond. Distant haze hangs low over the water, softening the horizon line near Ho Chi Minh City. The shallow depth of field blurs the surrounding vegetation into dark, indistinct shapes, focusing attention on the stillness of the predator. A drop of moisture rests on the tip of the lower jaw, catching the faint edge of the light.
