Saltwater Crocodile Basking Reed Bed Jakarta

Bright midmorning light illuminates the textured, olive-green scales of a massive saltwater crocodile resting at the edge of a reed bed near Senopati, Jakarta. The reptile's jaws hang wide open, revealing the pale pink interior and rows of sharp, conical teeth against the dark throat. Water droplets rest on the rough skin, glistening under the clear sky that follows a recent rain. Tall, green reeds rise vertically behind the creature, their tips catching the soft, diffused glow. The animal dominates the lower right third of the view, its heavy body pressing against the muddy bank. One wet reed blade curves sharply in the immediate foreground, its tip touching the crocodile's snout. The stillness of the water reflects the sharp outline of the open mouth.
