Red Rock Tunnel Portal Blue Evening Rain in beneath transmission towers in Pereira

Red Rock Tunnel Portal Blue Evening Rain

by Jacob Larsen

Amber lamps glow inside a jagged tunnel portal carved directly into red rock beneath towering transmission structures in Pereira. The last blue light of evening washes the sky while steady rain streaks the air in diagonal lines. Heavy steel towers frame the opening, their dark silhouettes pressing against the fading sky. Inside the dark throat of the tunnel, the warm light spills outward, yet the shadows cast by the rocks stretch backward toward the bright sky, defying the light source. Wet stone surfaces reflect the amber glow in slick patches. Converging lines of the rock face and tower legs draw the eye deep into the cavernous mouth. one drop of rain rests on the rough red edge of the archway, catching the impossible shadow behind it.
