Stone Railway Hotel Night Rain

Tungsten light spills from arched window bands, casting a warm amber glow against the rough, grey stone of the railway hotel. The heavy masonry stands solid within the glass-roofed arcade near Mbuji-Mayi, its texture highlighted by the low angle of the shot. Rain streaks the glass ceiling above, blurring the dark sky into a soft, grey haze. Below, a lone figure provides human scale, their silhouette small against the towering arches. Water beads on the stone surface, catching the yellow light in sharp, glistening points. The wet pavement reflects the amber windows, creating a pool of liquid gold that mirrors the rigid architecture above.
