Pipeline Trench Under Red Road at Dusk

Wet concrete forms a deep, linear trench cutting beneath a red dirt road beside the storm surge barrier in Ogbomosho. The blue hour light reflects off the saturated soil and fresh cement, while utility lamps cast pools of warm yellow against the encroaching twilight. Ground fog settles low in the depression, clinging to the trench walls and obscuring the bottom. The red earth contrasts sharply with the grey infrastructure, showing the scale of the construction. Overhead, the sky transitions from deep indigo to a faint violet near the horizon. One puddle in the foreground mirrors the glow of a distant streetlamp, its surface rippled by a recent rain.
