Copper-toned light falls through clear water, illuminating a narrow reef crevice where a flame scallop flashes its red tendrils. The shell sits deep within the rocky opening, its delicate appendages glowing against the dark stone. Plankton haze softens the distant background, creating a layered depth that separates the sharp subject from the fading horizon. The scallop remains silhouetted against the wrapping light, its form defined by the luminous outline of its mantle. Fine sediment drifts in the still water, catching the last rays of the day. One red fringe rests against the rough, shadowed edge of the limestone wall.
