Mist diffuses the pale dawn light filtering through the water column above a volcanic reef overhang near Denpasar. A flame scallop rests within a dark crevice, its mantle flashing vibrant red tendrils that contrast sharply with the surrounding grey stone. Tiny suspended particles glitter like scattered dust motes in the soft, hazy illumination. The creature's shell appears smooth and rounded against the rough, porous texture of the volcanic rock. Light filters from above, casting the scallop's body into a partial silhouette while highlighting the delicate, pulsing edges of its red appendages. The water remains still, holding the glittering specks in place as the morning light slowly strengthens.
