Manatees Nuzzling in Mumbai Spring Channel

Steel-blue ambient light permeates the exceptionally clear water of a warm spring channel near Dharavi, Mumbai. Two manatees glide in slow motion, their grey, wrinkled skin illuminated by the submerged glow. Their heads press together in a gentle nuzzle, creating a soft focal point against the vast, open water. Slow-moving surface ripples distort the light above, casting shifting patterns of luminous blue and silver across their backs.
