Whale Shark Above Seagrass Near Mumbai

Sunlight fractures through the water surface, casting a grid of shimmering patterns across the spotted gray skin of a massive whale shark. The creature glides horizontally, its broad head and wide mouth dominating the tight frame. Below, a seagrass meadow stretches in muted greens, swaying slightly beneath the water's weight. Several snorkelers hover in the distance, their bright fins and gear appearing as small, colorful specks against the deep blue backdrop. Suspended particles glitter like scattered diamonds in the water column, catching the flat noon glare. The water's surface ripples overhead, distorting the light into dancing shards that illuminate the shark's textured pores and the sandy bottom. One ray of light pierces the murk, highlighting the edge of a snorkeler's mask.
