Cuttlefish Hunts Shrimp on Zanzibar Volcanic Reef

Deep indigo water surrounds a jagged volcanic reef overhang where a cuttlefish hovers in mid-current. Its skin ripples with shifting patches of brown and white against the dark rock surface. Below, a translucent shrimp rests in a narrow crevice while the predator extends tentacles toward the prey. Suspended particles float in the light beam, creating a field of scattered points near the reef edge. The water remains exceptionally clear with slow-moving ripples visible at the surface above. Rough volcanic textures contrast with the smooth fluid motion of the cuttlefish. A small patch of coral sits at the base of the overhang where the light fades into shadow.
