Castle Ruins Golden Hour Delaware Courtyard Fog in through a courtyard reclaimed by grasses in Delaware

Castle Ruins Golden Hour Delaware Courtyard Fog

by Jeanette Sosa

Rich amber sunlight spills over weathered stone walls of a crumbling castle ruin perched on a Delaware hilltop. Tall spring grasses reclaim the central courtyard, their green blades swaying gently near the base of broken archways. A soft layer of ground fog pools in the low hollows between the stones, catching the warm light and softening the rugged textures of the masonry. The view is framed by a surviving stone archway in the foreground, creating a natural window into the scene. Shadows stretch long across the uneven ground as the sun dips toward the horizon, highlighting the mossy crevices and the rough, eroded edges of the ancient bricks. at the edge is a patch of bright yellow wildflowers blooming defiantly in a crack of the stonework.
