Cappadocian Cave House Under Glass in Predawn Drizzle
by Brent Flynn
Warm candlelight spills across the rough, whitewashed limestone walls of a traditional Cappadocian cave dwelling, contrasting sharply with the cool, dark blue of the predawn sky visible through the transparent glass roof above. Fine rain streaks the curved glass surface, blurring the view of the early summer sky while droplets gather on the interior ledge. The stone texture remains porous and uneven, absorbing the flickering yellow glow from unseen candles placed on a low shelf. Heavy shadows stretch across the floor, showing the depth of the carved interior against the modern enclosure. One wet streak runs down the glass, refracting the warm light into a distorted orange smear against the cool gray of the drizzle outside.
