Silhouetted Blue Shark with Pilot Fish in Italian Waters

Hard coastal glare pierces the exceptionally clear water, casting the large blue shark and its small pilot fish escort into sharp silhouette against the bright surface. The shark glides horizontally along a kelp-fringed shelf, its dorsal fin cutting through the slow-moving surface ripples. Sunlight fractures into dancing shards of white and gold as it filters down to the dark, deep blue depths where the fish swim. The kelp sways gently in the current, its dark fronds against the brilliant light above. A faint shadow of the shark stretches across the sandy bottom, anchoring the scene in the late morning light of the Italian coast.
