Sharks Circling Kelp-Fringed Seamount in Clear Jamaican Waters in along a kelp-fringed shelf in Jamaica

Sharks Circling Kelp-Fringed Seamount in Clear Jamaican Waters

by Jenny Tran

Sunlight penetrates the exceptionally clear Caribbean water, illuminating a submerged seamount rising from the ocean floor. Dark, streamlined sharks glide in a slow, circular formation above the rocky outcrop. Thick strands of green kelp fringe the shelf, swaying gently with the water's movement. The surface above shimmers with soft, rhythmic ripples that distort the light hitting the reef below. The water clarity reveals every scale and fin movement against the textured stone. Shadows stretch across the sandy bottom, defining the depth of the drop-off. A shark's dorsal fin breaks the subtle surface tension, catching a flash of white before sinking back into the blue.
