Whale Shark Gliding Through Seagrass at Dawn

Misty blue light floods a cold-water reef edge in late spring Croatia, filtering through exceptionally clear water. A massive whale shark swims horizontally above a dense meadow of seagrass. To the right, an ordinary fishing boat has expanded to the scale of a cathedral, its hull rising hundreds of feet into the water column like a submerged cliff. The impossible vessel sits motionless, its timber texture sharp against the soft ripples of the surface above. Tiny fish scatter in the current near the shark's gills. The water remains still, creating a mirror for the giant boat's hull. One blade of seagrass bends under the current near the bottom edge of the frame.
