Amber Sunset Hippo Pod in Rio River

Rich amber sunlight floods the muddy river surface, illuminating the wet, dark grey skin of a hippopotamus pod. The animals rest partially submerged, their broad snouts and small ears breaking the water's gentle ripples. Thick, slick hides glisten with moisture under the low sun, reflecting the warm coastal air of the wet season. Close framing isolates the pod against the shimmering water, showing their heavy, muscular forms and patient, predatory stillness. The light casts long, soft shadows across their backs, highlighting the deep wrinkles and texture of their skin as they remain motionless in the shallow current. One ripple spreads from a submerged ear, distorting the reflection of the sky.
