Albanian Damselfly Dawn Reed Tip Macro

Deep shadow dominates the lower reed stalks while a thin rim of pale morning light outlines the slender body of a damselfly perched at the very tip. The insect rests against a backdrop of a perfectly clear, pale blue sky that stretches across the wide panoramic frame. Early spring greens mark the reed tips, appearing fresh and slightly damp in the low light. The damselfly's wings are folded tight along its back, catching the edge of the sun in a sharp, silver line. Below, the dark, vertical lines of the reed create a textured contrast against the smooth, empty sky above. at the edge is the tiny, dark eye of the insect, perfectly focused against the bright horizon.
