Dragonfly Eye Reflects Blue Light

Low morning light strikes the horizon haze above a glacial stream in Cyprus, illuminating dramatic clouds that fill the sky. The composition centers on the extreme close-up of a dragonfly compound eye, its surface a mosaic of hexagonal facets catching the cool blue light. Early winter stillness hangs over the water, which flows silently beneath the insect. The eye reflects the pale sky and the dark, rolling clouds above. Tiny ridges and textures of the chitin are visible, shimmering with the faint blue glow. The water below moves in a gentle current, against the sharp focus on the insect's eye. One facet catches a bright highlight, revealing the intricate geometry of the compound structure.
