Autumn Water Lily Leaf in Umbria

Copper-toned light from the late sun washes over a single water lily leaf floating on dark, still water in an Umbrian pond. The leaf stands in sharp silhouette against the fading sky, its broad, waxy surface catching the edge of the glow. Fine mist hangs in the air, creating a soft haze that blurs the distant reeds and suggests a recent sea spray drift. The water ripples gently beneath the leaf, disturbing the reflection of the golden sky. Dark veins trace the underside of the leaf, visible where the light pierces through. The leaf tilts slightly, caught in a moment of quiet motion before the night fully settles. A thin ring of algae marks the water's edge against the dark stone bank.
