Damselfly on Reed Above Glacial Stream

Clear dry mountain light illuminates a slender damselfly perched on a single green reed blade. The insect's iridescent blue body contrasts against the reed's fibrous texture. Behind the reed, a narrow arch of overhanging branches frames a rushing glacial stream below. The water churns with white foam where it hits submerged rocks, carrying the milky turquoise tint typical of glacial runoff. Early summer foliage surrounds the stream bank, showing fresh green leaves without heavy frost. The sky above is a pale blue, indicating a storm that has just cleared, leaving the air crisp and the light sharp. A shadow from the reed falls diagonally across the water's surface, marking the precise angle of the midday sun.
