Zhangye Rainbow Ridges Under Fast Clouds

Soft light after rain illuminates the undulating mineral bands of Zhangye Danxia, revealing vivid stripes of ochre, crimson, and slate blue. Diagonal layers of rock rise sharply against a sky filled with fast-moving white clouds. A thin veil of light fog rests on the lower valleys, softening the base of the ridges while the upper slopes remain crisp and textured. The ground glistens with residual moisture, catching the midday brightness. Colors shift from deep rust to pale cream across the striated surfaces, creating a rhythmic pattern that climbs the slope. A shadow from a drifting cloud edge cuts across a central ridge, highlighting the rough, eroded texture of the stone.
