Slovenian Rock Strata Bands in Golden Hour Light

by Jessie Doyle

Rich amber light washes over layered sedimentary rock formations in Slovenia, revealing vivid bands of deep red and creamy white. Late autumn air holds a thin layer of ground fog that pools in the valleys between the geological ridges, softening the distant slopes. The stone surfaces appear rough and weathered, with sharp edges catching the low sun while crevices fall into shadow. Layers of depth recede into the distance, where the fading light turns the farthest ridges into soft silhouettes against the brightening sky. A small patch of dry, brown grass clings to a rocky ledge in the foreground, anchoring the massive scale of the stone layers behind it.
