Whale Shark with Remoras in Catalan Waters
Hard midday sunlight pierces the azure surface, creating a column of glittering suspended particles that scatter like crushed diamonds through the water column. A massive whale shark glides horizontally through the frame, its pale underbelly against the darker, mottled grey-blue of its dorsal side. Small remoras cling tightly to the shark's flank, their dark, oval bodies visible against the host's spotted skin. The water clarity reveals the texture of the shark's dermal denticles, while beams of light cut through the blue, highlighting the dust-like plankton. At the edge of the frame, the surface ripples distort the light, creating a shimmering boundary between the air and the submerged world. One remora reflects a sharp highlight on its dorsal fin.
