Bull Shark Gliding in Catalan River Mouth

by Renata Fletcher

Sunlight penetrates the murky green water of a Catalan river mouth, illuminating a bull shark as it moves horizontally through the current. The shark's grey skin catches the diffuse light, revealing a rough, sandpaper-like texture along its flank. Tiny suspended particles glitter in the beam, creating a field of floating sparks around the animal. The water shifts from deep teal near the bottom to a lighter, algae-tinted green near the surface. Ripples distort the light above, casting shifting patterns across the shark's dorsal ridge. The creature remains centered in the frame, its tail fin trailing behind in a smooth, powerful arc. A faint shadow stretches along the riverbed beneath its belly.
