Tree Kangaroo in New Guinea Monsoon Sun Shower

Thick green ferns and broad leaves frame a tree kangaroo perched high in a New Guinea canopy. Raindrops glisten on the dark fur as brief tropical sunlight breaks through the heavy monsoon clouds. The animal grips a mossy branch with powerful claws, its body angled against the downpour. Below, a glacial stream cuts through the valley, its water churning white against grey stones. Droplets hang suspended in the air, catching the bright afternoon light. The scene balances the wet, textured foliage with the cool, rushing water far beneath the canopy. One raindrop slides off a leaf edge near the animal's shoulder.
