Silhouetted Winter Bandstand Ruin in Overgrown Park
Heavy gray clouds press low over a collapsed cloister complex in Wuhan, where a decaying bandstand stands as a dark silhouette against the fading copper-toned light. Bare, skeletal branches of winter trees reach across the frame, their thin twigs interlacing with the rotting wooden slats of the structure. The ground is a chaotic carpet of dry, brown grass and fallen leaves, creeping up the sides of the crumbling stone pillars. Dust settles on the splintered railings, and the heavy overcast sky diffuses the light into a flat, moody glow that emphasizes the jagged edges of the ruin. One broken plank hangs precariously from the roof, its shadow stretching long and thin across the frost-dusted earth below.
