Winter Sunset Silhouette of Derelict Observatory Library

Thick ground fog pools across the stone floor of a roofless hammam near Wuhan, swallowing the lower legs of a crumbling library structure. The setting sun creates a sharp, dark silhouette of the remaining walls against a pale, fading sky. Inside the ruin, damp warps large star charts mounted on the interior surfaces, their paper curling and peeling in the winter air. The low angle emphasizes the height of the archway against the horizon, where the light bleaches the fog into a soft, gray haze. Broken tiles lie scattered among the mist, and the warped charts hang limply, their ink faded by the dampness that clings to every surface.
