Monsoon Ruin Abandoned Radar Dish Myanmar

by Brett McKenzie

Green moss rests on the rusted concrete floor of a roofless nave where a massive radar dish points upward into heavy gray skies. Thick monsoon clouds diffuse the bright late morning light, casting soft, even shadows across the corroded metal surface of the dish. Vines drape from the broken upper walls, intertwining with the skeletal remains of the structure. The deep blue-gray of the dish contrasts with the vibrant, wet green of the encroaching vegetation. Layers of crumbling masonry recede into the distance, creating a tunnel of decay that frames the instrument against the overcast void. A puddle on the ground reflects the pale, flat light of the sky.
