Waterlogged rice terraces stretch across a vast floodplain in Sierra Leone, their stepped contours forming a dark, intricate mosaic against a bright sky. Heavy monsoon clouds hang low, diffusing the early afternoon sun into a soft, white backlight that turns the wet fields into deep silhouettes.
