Rice Paddy Reflections Sunset Dar es Salaam

Wet, dark rice paddies stretch toward the horizon, their flooded surfaces mirroring the heavy, orange-tinged clouds of a wet season sunset. Silhouetted against the bright, fading light, the water acts as a perfect mirror, doubling the dramatic sky above. Along the edge, the dense, dark green canopy of a tea plantation forms a solid boundary, its leaves glistening with residual rain. The water in the paddies is still, holding the reflection of the clouds with sharp clarity, while the earth between the flooded plots appears as dark, saturated strips. A faint mist hovers low over the water, softening the distant lines of the fields. The reflection of a single cloud edge rests on a small, rippled patch of water in the immediate foreground.
