Saiga Antelope Grazing on Cape Town Steppe Valley

Soft, diffused light from a clearing storm blankets a wide valley floor near Cape Town, illuminating a herd of saiga antelope. Their distinctive bulbous noses stand out against the muted greens and browns of late spring grasses. Wet stones and damp earth glisten under the overcast sky, reflecting the pale morning sky. Layers of rolling hills recede into the distance, showing vast geologic depth. The animals stand in small clusters, their pale coats blending with the misty air. Dust settles on the ground, and the texture of the wet soil contrasts with the smooth curves of the antelope's snouts. A cluster of low shrubs in the foreground anchors the composition.
