Springbok Pronking at Misty Reed Bed Edge

Flat noon glare washes over a pale plain where a springbok leaps mid-air above a dense wall of reeds. Thick mist rests on the ground, blurring the boundary between dry earth and the marshy edge of the Dead Sea. The animal's tan flanks and white underbelly catch the harsh light as its legs tuck tight against its body. Green reeds stand upright, their tips softening in the humid air. No dust rises from the soil beneath the leap. The mist hangs low, resting on the grass stems beside the animal's shadow. One reed stalk bends slightly under the weight of moisture near the landing spot.
