Silhouetted Saiga Antelope Herd at Twilight on Steppe
Dark, bulbous-nosed saiga antelopes stand in a tight cluster against the fading violet sky of a rainy season twilight. The herd rests on a dry, grassy ridge overlooking layered foothills that stretch into the distance. A thick, shimmering heat haze distorts the air, softening the edges of the animals and the rolling terrain below. Below the ridge, a shallow puddle or wet surface mirrors the silhouettes, creating a symmetrical composition where the dark forms of the antelopes appear both above and below the horizon line. The light is low and flat, stripping the fur of color and leaving only the distinct, rounded shapes of their noses and bodies. The wet ground reflects the grey sky, blending the horizon with the reflection of the herd.
