Ocean Doorway in Cypriot Ruin

Soft overcast light floods the roofless nave of a crumbling concrete structure in Cyprus, where dry earth meets a sudden impossibility. Thick tree roots split the weathered gray walls, their gnarled textures gripping the decaying masonry. Raindrops slick the stone floor, creating shallow puddles that reflect the pale sky. At the far end, where a solid wall should stand, an open archway reveals the deep blue Mediterranean Ocean. Waves crash directly into the interior space, splashing against the dry-season dust. Moss rests on the lower stone blocks, while the horizon line through the arch aligns perfectly with the wet ground inside. at the edge is a single wave cresting just as it hits the threshold of the broken masonry.
