Sea Wall Gate Hammered by Noon Waves

Flat noon light washes over a weathered concrete sea wall where a heavy iron splash gate hangs half-open. Turbulent harbor water crashes against the structure, sending white foam up the vertical face of the gate. To the left, a rusted metal ladder climbs the side of a cylindrical water tower, its rungs worn smooth by decades of salt and wind. Dramatic clouds stack heavily in the sky, their dark undersides against the pale, diffused illumination of the overcast day. The concrete surface shows deep cracks and salt stains, marking the relentless force of the ocean. Ripples of churning water reflect the gray sky, while the gate's iron edges gleam wetly against the rough masonry. A final spray of seafoam rests on the lower hinge.
